Artificial Intelligence vs. Intelligent Art

AI can create incredible works in seconds. But there's one thing no technology can do for you…

contrast between artificial intelligence and human art

What's the hit song right now?

“Artificial intelligence allows you to create images, music, and text in seconds. Just a few instructions are all it takes to get amazing results.”

And many of us wonder… But is that art?

The two-sided coin

A two-sided coin

The word art comes from artifice: an artificial recreation of something.

Our creations—songs, paintings, sculptures, poems—are mechanisms for enabling those who listen, see, or read to connect with an emotion that cannot be conveyed in any other way. It is expression and communication .

It's a double-edged sword:

  • What you want to express and what you want someone to receive.

  • The artifice: the work as a means to achieve it, the "how" you want to express it.

The value of the unique

With artificial intelligence, anyone can access the artifice instantly, without needing to develop a technique or learn a specific skill. And yes, you can create something like that… but can you truly call it your own work? Even more importantly: can you feel it as your own?

That's the problem…

When you develop your own technique—your tricks, strategies, and ways of expressing ideas or emotions—whether by studying, experimenting, rehearsing, or writing, you not only master the artifice (the ability to create a work), but something much more valuable: you master the way of expressing in an unrepeatable way something that is authentic and unique to you.

And what is authentic is scarce; for that very reason, it is valuable.

Success is the connection

Musical connection

Developing your natural skills and talents day by day, tailored to what you want to express, allows you to create art that represents you.

And the more it represents you, the more happiness, satisfaction, and genuine connection it gives you with the listener.

That connection —far above applause or likes— is the true measure of success.

AI at your service

AI as an ally

When you give AI complete control of the technique, you're giving up your unique way of expressing yourself. It's like getting into a fast, flashy car, but with no one to share the experience of an authentic and rewarding journey with.

I use technology a lot and I think it's wonderful. I also use AI extensively and find its value immeasurable: it's potentially the medium that can expand the reach of your creative journey. But use it to enhance your most genuine self, not to replace your creativity and your unique way of perceiving the world and connecting with others through what excites you.

Be smart and use artifice to your advantage.
